Application (Q & A) Questions and Answers
Q. The Community Application mentions Microsoft PowerPoint. Do communities have to provide a copy of the application in PowerPoint? A. No. Pg. 29 of the Application Guidelines states, "Include up to 20 high resolution, representative photo images that depict the visual character of the proposed Main Street target area on CD ROM preferably in Microsoft PowerPoint format."
Q. On the cover page, question #11, where it asks for name or names of Downtown Organizations – is that looking for the name of the applicant, the name of the qualifying nonprofit the communities are intending to use, or to list all the various local groups that currently do things in/for the downtown? The next questions asks about the tax status and how long one organization has existed. A. If the community has an existing group that does things for the downtown, state that. However, if in addition to the existing groups a new organization were to be developed for the local Main Street Program, I would note that organization too. Q 55, 56, and 57 asks to explain the proposed structure of the local Main Street Program. These further questions will enable the community to further explain how the local Main Street Program will operate -- whether housed in one of those existing downtown groups or in a new organization.
