Haylee Ferington, Planner

Haylee Ferington is a recent addition to the G/FLRPC as of 2019. Having grown up in Upstate New York and spending the previous ten years in various regions across the continental states, she is passionately excited about giving back to the area she calls home.

The roll of an environmental planner was one Haylee was born for, engaging in activism from an early age.  Birthday presents were forgone in place of donations to a local food pantry and recycling programs started in elementary schools.

Continuing in this lifelong trajectory, Haylee became interested in the supra governmental sphere, during her undergraduate days.  Field studies and internships were completed at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The culmination of these endeavors came during her graduate work at the University of Colorado-Boulder. During this time, Haylee completed a well-rounded array of projects to solidify her role in the sustainable planning field. She conducted an electric bus feasibility study for the Regional Transportation District of Denver, a green infrastructure policy analysis for the Community Design and Research Center at CU-Boulder, and broadcast a radio story on the equity impacts of the built environment on Federal Boulevard in Denver.

Haylee is inspired by her position as Clean Energy Communities Coordinator, as she assists communities in narrating and actualizing visions for themselves in the renewable energy sector.
