Community Campaigns
This page details the steps your community needs to take to get Clean Energy Communities certification for this Action Item by NYSERDA and how Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council (G/FLRPC) can assist you. As your regional Clean Energy Coordinator, please email Rob Richardson at rrichardson@gflrpc.org or if you have been in touch with other Finger Lakes Region Clean Energy Communities Coordinators at G/FLRPC, email them directly for help completing this action item.

Step 1: Determine your campaign type and submit a Scoping Document.

You only need to do one campaign type, but your campaign may cover more than one technology.
  1. Community Campaign for Community Solar
  2. Community Campaign for Electric Vehicles
  3. Community Campaign for Clean Heating and Cooling and Energy Efficiency
  4. Community Campaign for Demand response

Before launching a campaign, the applying jurisdiction must submit a scoping document on the High Impact Action Item Document page. NYSERDA will review the scoping document and provide notification by email if the campaign can proceed.

Step 2: Complete the Campaign
Complete the campaign as described in the scoping document approved by NYSERDA.

Note: Date of completion for this action is defined as the date of the campaign as approved in their Scoping Document. The launch date cannot be prior to the approved Scoping Document.

Step 3: Submitting Documentation
Once the campaign is complete, the final step is to submit the following documents to NYSERDA for certification of this Action Item:
  1. Documentation to demonstrate direct municipal participation in a campaign. Documentation should be dated and include the name of the applying jurisdiction, and may consist of one or more of the following: a press release, a flyer from an event hosted by the jurisdiction, a website screenshot, a local press article, a certified resolution, or comparable information.
  2.  Submit a completed Customer List.  A template can be found here.   The installation / purchase dates must be after the launch date of the campaign to qualify. Customers must reside within the boundaries of the applying jurisdiction.
